The State Board of Nursing has received multiple complaints about narcotics diversion about a nurse name Jamie, RN who works on the 3rd-floor medical-surgical unit a Howard University Hospital. Jamie has signed off on six controlled substance counts that have been inaccurate. The investigation reveal that several members of the nursing staff knew about Jamie’s reported behavior, but they did not report their observation to the unit administrator because the administrator is Jamie’s uncle. Should the nursing staff who did not report the incidents face disciplinary action too? If so, what type of action.
