The value of service extends beyond traditional healthcare boundaries, as I advocate for patient access to resources and tailor interventions to meet community needs. This approach is resonant with the model of social determinants of health outlined by Marmot and Allen (2014), emphasizing a broader view of health that includes social and environmental factors. With my preceptor we have discussed the extended boundaries that exist within C4H for serving others–their mental, social, and family needs. This shows that Christian service can often manifest in our lives even when we’re not thinking about it
