Calculate the drops per minute for the continuous normal saline infusion when using 15 gtt/mL tubing. Round to the nearest whole number and record the number only. Prescriptions: 0.9% NS 1000 mL – infuse over 60 minutes 0.9% NS 1000 mL – infuse at 150 mL/hr Fentanyl 25 mcg IV push q1-2h PRN for pain Metoclopramide 10 mg IV push q6h PRN for nausea/vomiting Administer fluid bolus then administer continuous infusion. Strain all urine. CT abdomen w/o contrast. Hospital Formulary: EHR Standard of Care Fentanyl Available: 200 mcg/2 mL Administer over 1-3 minutes Metoclopramide Available: 10 mg/2 mL Administer in a 50 mL bag of 0.9% NS – infuse over 10 minutes
