With resources for community service funding scarce, why is it important that applications for funding are carefully worded?
A community services organisation has the following two objectives:
To listen to and understand each client well so that we can deliver individual and client-centred services that best suit the needs of the client.
To encourage a strong network of relationships around each client.
Given the objectives above, write two communication strategies that would reflect that need.

Abbeyfield Children’s Disability Services has a very comprehensive crisis communication plan to cover emergency issues for children, including reporting of child abuse, injuries to children and abduction.
Today one of the children has disclosed to a staff member that she has been sexually abused by a trusted family member.
How will the crisis communication plan help the staff member report the abuse?
Yelloon works in a community services setting. She works with deaf children – she understands the needs of these children because she is deaf herself.
Today when she returns to the office, she sees that everyone is in the tea room having afternoon tea.
One of the staff members signs Auslan to her that it was the Christmas afternoon tea and everyone had brought a Secret Santa present.
Yelloon knew nothing about this – it was discussed in the staff meeting last week and everyone presumed that she had worked out that it was happening.
Yelloon felt lonely and left out. She was embarrassed that she hadn’t brought a present. She went back to her desk and packed up her stuff and went home.
She loved working with the kids, but didn’t really want to go back ever again.
What two communication strategies could be put in place so this never happens again to Yelloon?
