Situation: 45-year-old female admitted from home this morning for surgery to debulk and abdominal mass. Background: history of HTN, depression, hypothyroid. Recent visit to PCP found a palpable mass in her abdomen. Assessment: T 96.7 po, HR 105 ST, BP 98/54, RR 24, SpO2 94% with shallow respirations. Urinary catheter draining clear, pale-yellow urine; NGT to LIWS with scant amount of clear drainage; Abdomen with a large dressing intact, oozing bright red blood at the distal end; The client just received a dose of morphine prior to leaving PACU.
