32 Weeks Gestation A 31-year-old client who is 32 weeks pregnant visits the obstetrician’s for a routine prenatal appointment. The licensed practical nurse (LPN) reviews the notes from the registered nurse (RN) and takes the client’s vital signs. RN notes are as follows: Her past medical history includes one miscarriage, and one full term birth before this pregnancy. Her prepregnancy baseline body mass index (BMI) is 30, and she has gained 20 lb so far during this pregnancy. She denies drinking alcohol, smoking, or illicit drug use. She takes a prenatal multivitamin and no other medications. She reports a balanced diet, eating 3 meals per day and drinking 3 liters of water daily.
