N 6501 N: Respond to this discussion by either supporting or challenging their explanation on whether there is an evidence base to support the proposed health policy they described.: S.1077 – Home-Based Telemental Health Care Act of 2023 is the proposed health policy that I selected to address. This bill was addressed by Senator Rounds on March 30, 2023. This health policy stresses the importance of creating telemental health access for the population who suffer from mental illnesses and substance abuse disorders, especially those who live in rural areas and those who are farmers, fishermen, and forestry (Congress.gov, 2023). The social determinants of this significant problem are the population who live in rural areas, fishermen, farmers, and those who work in forestry. Access to mental health services should be attainable to everyone, regardless of where you are located. Creating telemental health will provide care to those in rural areas who aren’t able to travel long distances to seek in-person treatment.
